Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch

Who expects lessons from a buff Boston Boy. While I drank protein shakes and
tried to gain weight, you pointed at your pecs to stress the importance of your
words. Wrap your hands like a boxer before you get them dirty, lyrically or
otherwise, and the sting will be significantly less. Curl cinder blocks as if the
weight of your future resides on each side, because every great man’s legacy is
not chiseled in metal, but carved in stone. Bench pressing gives you a fighting
chance of escaping your older brother’s shadow. You flaunted it because you
had it and who could argue with those abs. Why wear a shirt when you could
promote a personalized gold chain. I lifted to look like a fraction of you, but my
skin and bones stayed the same size. You have grown up and trimmed your
street accent that has become more refined over time. I have bulked up and can
now bench press my body weight and then some. We are in the best shape of
our lives when we least need to be. Marky Mark, twenty-three years later and I
can finally, feel it-feel it! We should be never regret being the kids that we were.
