Juliann Petkov

Since beginning her foray in photography, Petkov has striven to be patient with her creative process, admitting that she often struggles to take good photographs. In a nod to her literary roots she tries to balance image and narrative, she’s been known to say that she’s “not always sure that images are enough” and tries to offer narrative whenever possible.

When she’s not travelling the world taking photographs she can be found in New York City, where she works at a start-up publishing company, but her heart is still firmly planted in her home state of New Jersey, where she lives with her loving family and dog, Romeo.

The photographs featured here are from three of her collections, “A time at Coney Island,” “Sicily,” and “Oaxaca.”
